Loyal Toyota consumers needn’t fear, their Champaign Toyota dealer won’t be turning into a vacant lot any time soon. Toyota Motor Corp has shown skeptics that the world’s largest automaker isn’t going down without a fight as they posted a profit of $1.2 billion for the quarter after a year of high-profile recalls spurred on by the PR nightmare of sudden acceleration cases and several probes by the US Auto Safety Regulators. These setbacks could have severely crippled a lesser auto company, but Toyota has illustrated the benefit of consumer loyalty and the advantage of having a wide-ranging product line.

Autoblog reports, “This profit comes despite the fact that Toyota reports expenditures related to the recall mess at a little over a billion dollars (or, 100 billion yen) and surely took a monetary hit compared to previous years due to the unprecedented spate of incentives to keep sales rolling.” Toyota may have taken a financial hit with all the new incentives they’ve been offering, but the incentives have been effective and the sales have kept rolling.

Toyota Motor Corp President, Akio Toyoda, has made sure that Toyota employees and consumers know that the company’s success would not be possible without them. Toyota Motor Corp is highly aware that their success would not be possible without all their on-site employees like your local Champaign Toyota dealer, who have remained dedicated to providing their customers with superior Toyota products and services.

In a speech this past May, Mr. Toyoda stated, “I am sincerely grateful to our dealers and suppliers who remained fully committed to providing as many cars as possible to customers, and to our employees as well as our overseas business operations for their efforts in working together so that the company will return to its normal state as soon as possible. And finally, above all, I am sincerely grateful to our customers of more than 7 million people around the world who newly purchased Toyota vehicles.”

Toyota expects to emerge from this year of ordeals with their heads held high. They have taken their lumps and are moving on with expectations of a 48% increase to $3.3 billion in its next full year profit.
