The Corolla shows us why its a strong seller

No Comments 07 May 2011

In March, the Toyota Corolla was of the top 10 best selling models across brands, landing in the 7th spot on the top ten list released by cars.com.  Did you know that the Corolla is the best selling car in the world with an average of one sold about every 40 seconds?  It’s size, features, trim options and more clearly make it a leading choice amongst drivers looking for value, a lot of standard features and more.

History of the model

The Corolla was introduced in 1966 and since that time many generations have evolved to the most current 2011 models found in stock at your Urbana Toyota dealership.  The Corolla lineup is currently in its tenth generation and is manufactured at locations throughout the world.

2011 models

The most current Corolla is sold as a base, LE, and S trim, each with features that drivers find important.  Several items are found standard such as the following:

  • 15-inch steel wheels
  • Power mirrors
  • Air conditioning
  • Steering wheel with tilt and telescoping ability
  • Drivers seat that can be adjusted to driver’s height, which makes for safer and more comfortable travels
  • 60/40-split-folding rear seat
  • Four- speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack

If all of these make for a perfect car, then the Corolla base would be a nice fit for you.  If you crave a few more amenities, the following items can be enjoyed if you opt for the LE trim:

  • Variable intermittent wipers- saves on wear and tear of wipers, especially during rainy and snowy conditions
  • Keyless entry
  • Power locks and windows
  • Cruise control – can help with excess gas usage and help control speed in open driving situations
  • Six speakers as part of stereo system

Moving up the Corolla S, you can enjoy even more features:

  • Body kit giving it a sporty look
  • Rear spoiler
  • Upgrades to the cloth upholstery
  • Steering-wheel audio controls
  • Upgraded trip computer

Special Edition Sienna on Display at 2010 SEMA show

No Comments 12 January 2011

The SEMA show held yearly is an auto show different than others.  It was held in Las Vegas in November and its one that focuses on the aftermarket of vehicles, only open to those associated directly with specialty automotive products.  At this show, the vehicles that go on display are specialized editions of the ones you might find at a local dealership.  Often the SEMA exhibits are fitted with specialty products, wild colors, and other features that are sold in aftermarket industries.

Recall service going well for Toyota with over 5 million cars fixed

No Comments 12 November 2010

It’s hard to admit you are wrong. It’s even harder to admit you a wrong 5 million times, and pay to have it fixed. I think it speaks worlds that Toyota has not only voiced their concerns for vehicle safety, but also taken action. Props to Toyota for their prompt and proactive response to vehicle malfunctions.  I have to admit that personally, I am not so gracious. Especially when it comes to games and all things competitive. I am what the layperson would refer to as a “bad sport”, but I think that is why I admire the Toyota company for their honesty and respect for the consumer. Continue Reading
