The technology seen in the many different Toyota models we carry could potentially one day be used to power or guide other systems and items we rely on in everyday life. A commercial where Toyota drivers envision their auto’s technology powering other things in the world around us is one you may have seen before.
Ideas for Good Program
In the Fall of 2010, Toyota began this program to encourage people to think about science, technology, and world around us. They asked everyday consumers to submit ideas about how several of Toyota’s auto technologies could be applied to other facets of everyday living. Let’s check out some of the winners that were previously announced.
All of the participants had a chance to put their ideas into good use a few weeks ago at a weekend event in Pennsylvania. One really cool idea was from a person who thought converting Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive, which can be found in some new and used cars Champaign area drivers can find now at our store, to exercise equipment would be a good way to generate energy while people work out. Very clever idea!
What about the guy who thought about applying one system to helping save lives? The Advanced Parking Guidance System that helps Toyota models park could be applied to helping a firefighter correctly place their ladder against a burning building. In a situation like that, they are under pressure to get in there and perform, so making sure a ladder is placed correctly to start will help keep everyone involved that much more safe!
What about bike safety? How do you feel about wearing a helmet, which is necessary to protect you in case of a fall? One driver thought it would be fantastic to apply Toyota’s injury simulation software to doing the same for bicycle crashes, ultimately improving the design and safety level of bicycle helmets.
